A FUTURE PLACE
In the text “Adam” written by Michael Lee Cohen we hear about a boy who dreams of a place in the future, where he has all the sources he needs to become a happy man. In his case it’s money. He likes to compare himself with Bill Gates, only richer. As a group we have decided to write about our imaginary places. We all agree that money isn’t the most important thing. Instead we want to achieve emotional experiences. This can be a feeling or a place in the future.
What does my perfect life look like
What does my perfect life look like? I have unlike Adam in the story ‘’Adam’’ no desire for money. If it was possible I would have a small tree house in the wild. I would have to live the wild life, where I would go hunt my own food, and make sure to survive myself. I would live either alone, or with one good friend. I love the thought of living in total freedom, where I could create my own action. The place would be a lush island with lots of animals to challenge and become friends with. It should have an
animal society, and I would have to work my place in, building everything from ground up. I would have to learn everything myself. The feeling that I could see
the development that I would create on the island, I would love. I could never say that I was finished; there would always be something to work on, or new food
to find. The place of my dreams wouldn’t have any problem with money, or criminals. ‘’Every man for himself’’ would be my motto. I’m aware that this is a
kind of bizarre picture of a perfect place, but I’m drawn to danger, the wild life and the adrenalin kick.

My place in ten years
Today we live in 2012. When we are in the 2022, I will see myself as a woman and not as a girl. The future is unpredictable, which means, I can only imagine how my life will be.
I look down at my body, I can’t see my feet, I call my boyfriend because I need him to help me put my socks on. My little son William touches my
stomach and says, “Hello little sister, I know you are in there. Will you come out now, please?” I can’t stop smiling. When I look at my boyfriend he smiles
too. Today is my last day at work before I go to the maternity leave. I walk out the door and the sun is smiling at me. I decide to buy a takeaway coffee on my
way to work. I walk to the hospital where I work as a midwife. Today I have to help a woman give birth to her first child. She is nervous so I try to calm her
down. The baby boy comes out and the woman and her husband seem to be very happy. It is 3 am and I have just ended my last day at work. Next time I am here
it will be my turn to give birth.

A place in the future
I just shook hands with the President of the United States. Then we talked a little bit about Denmark and how we want to proceed in the United Nations. I said that we will of course participate, but our first priority is the European Union. Then he looked at me, and said he understood us, because of our economic situation, especially with Greece.
Tomorrow I am meeting up with China's prime minister to discuss the economic situation of the world. We are supposed to meet in New York, but since I am going to Moscow to meet the president of Russia in two days, we decided to meet in Paris. Nicolas Sarkozy and Angela Merkel will also be there. We will have lunch, and when we are done, we will have solved the economic problems that are threatening the world.
Of course this is just an imaginary place. I work as the minister of foreign affairs. I have studied international business and politics at CBS, and ended with the highest average mark ever seen. I work at least 12 hours a day, but I don’t mind. I love my job.
In maybe 10 or 20 years I want to be in this place of my life. Of course it is a bit unrealistic, but it is my dream. And in dreams, we can all achieve what we want.

The future is hard to predict
Our story “Adam" is written by Michael Lee Cole and is about a man who talks about Adam. Adam wants to be the best and he has big plans for the future.
Where do I see myself in 10 years? Do I have big plans for my own future?
“When I grow up I want to be a professional dancer in New York”. That’s the line there have come out of my mouth for 15 years now. It’s a dream that has been in my head since I saw my first dance movie. Alex from “Flashdance” is an inspiration. She’s young, beautiful, extremely cool and a dancer. Who wouldn’t want to have that life?
The walls, the music, the smell, the floor and the mirrors. Those things combined make the greatest place in the world. A dance studio, and if it takes place in the biggest city of dance I wouldn’t argue against it.
In New York dance is everywhere. In schools, streets, centers and homes. My dream is to live off dancing and not worry about anything. When you're in a dance studio everything around you disappears. You can be yourself through the dance and that is the most important. That is my future.

My imaginary future
Imaginary means `product of the imagination, something that is unreal´. I myself have tons of imaginary products that I hope will come true one day. Although some of them are unrealistic I am determined to try and make it all happen.
I’ve been in Portland, Oregon as an exchange student for a year. This year was filled with moments that I today have as an imaginary thought, hoping for them to reoccur. If I told you all of these moments I would have to fill out ten pages. Instead I will take you through one of them. It was in October 2011 and I sat in a school bus with eight
other students on my way to the coast. Bob Dylan’s song “Hurricane” was blasting through the loudspeakers and we drove through a landscape filled with tall trees. I was soaked into nature, and nothing else mattered. It happened so unexpectedly that I’m afraid it won’t happen again. I haven’t had this feeling since, as I spent most of my time going to school and doing sports, but I hope that this moment will reoccur sometime in the future when I least expect it.

Our imaginary place
It has already been one year since I finished high school. The time runs by so fast and I miss the times in high school, when I lived in Denmark and all of my Danish friends were around me all the time.
When my family decided to move to Fort Lauderdale, I took the chance because I thought it was a great opportunity.
I love to live in Fort Lauderdale, but things are really different here. Of course things like the climate, the culture and the people are very different compared to Denmark.
The reason why I took this chance was to improve my English skills in speaking as well as in writing.
I have just started studying after a few months without any books but with a lot of beach parties and a lot of new friends. Everyone is very kind over here. At university I study English, German, American history and Sports. There are many opportunities to do sports and especially running is a big part of the sports industry in America. I have
found a small club with good runners near our apartment. Right now I like to be in America, but sometimes I think Europe is too far away and my friends and the
rest of my family too. In one year I am going to Paris with my Danish friend because I want to learn French and experience the everyday life in the city. We will stay in Paris for 5 month and then I am going home to Denmark. Then I will move in with one of my best friends in a small apartment in the centre of Copenhagen. I am not thinking about how much money I will have. Instead I think that my friends are way more valuable and the fact that I have the opportunity to travel so much. New experiences are important to me and visiting other cultures is essential. I am looking forward to the rest of my life and right now I love it.

My dream place
Like Adam I would like to have a life where I have a job that makes a difference and is well paid. I would like to have an important job that matters. I would like to help people but also get paid well. I don’t need a big house I only need a place where I have the space to all I would ever need. A big apartment in Copenhagen would be great. My apartment should be well fitted with new modern furniture and a big cozy recliner. I have a big LED-TV-screen and a great surround sound system where I can play my big collection of CDs and Blu-ray DVDs. I like to cook but I’m not that good at it so a kitchen with the basic stuff is all I would need. Of course I would like to live with a
fantastic sweet and smart wife that I could talk to and have a great time with. I don’t know if I want to have children but I think it would be great to have one or maybe two. I don’t want to work too much because I also want to spend some time with my friends, family and of course on playing floorball.
